Why I should become educator

The people recently have reduced meaning of educational purposes which implemented by some deviations on their live practice. Educations as the base of human live to work, to think; to survive and so on has functioned as commercial trade. This assumption can be seen in the phenomenon of educational institution which always tries to promote consumers with many services which not relevant on the real quality of that institution. Some institutions try to put label of international for their institution in which the label of international school be based on the quality of the products its institution. Otherwise, recently the people needs the committee of education that can provide system of education which relevant with recently context.
However, the orientation of education is not only refers to material achievement. Some educators identify its meaning with variety definitions. Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas, educations is a process of giving things to human which be supported by some methods and be applied with some steps gradually, to reach the content of education itself. Meaning of it is education supposed to be tools and instrument of human in reaching its purpose. Meanwhile, the purpose of education is character building and creates the civilization wealthy.
Ahmad D. Marimba notes education as guidance of person physically and personally based on the Islamic laws toward forming character according to Islam measurement. Athiyah Al-Abrasy, Islamic education is preparing human for living perfectly and peacefully, loves the homeland, good on character and physical, wide minded, and professional at jobs.
Those definitions inspire the author to implement and manifest its values on real education globally. Mean that, education is not only purposed on enriching mind materially but it supported to build their character and attitude. Creating that purposes is not only can be achieved by giving lessons and knowledge in the class temporary but also must be successive with good examples of some teachers as the person who facilitate student in the class.

However, the author knows that it is not easy way to put ideas and implement it on real education system, but at least with some reasons of education, I would like to hold the students in knowing and understanding the mean and purpose of education by rules of Islam. Hence, education could be made as tools and instrument to create good personal and character.

ROAD TO PADANG BESAR*
(*merupakan perbatasan negara Thailand-Malyasia. Jalur strategis bagi masyarakat thailand-malaysia yang ingin melakukan perjalanan secara aman.)

Awalnya hanya berniat untuk mencoba. Sangat riskan untuk dilakukan berdua. Mengingat aku dan Irsyad* (teman indo berasal dari Bogor) belum lah terlalu banyak menghafal jalur menuju Padang Besar (ditulis: basa). Rutenya pun memiliki resiko bagi setiap pengemudi asing. Terlalu sepi, menembus tengah hutan karet yang sangat rimbun. Meskipun, jalan yang dilalui berkualitas jalan tol, tapi tetaplah keamanan menjadi tolak ukurnya.
Langit mendung menaungi perjalanan kita. Keluar dari hiruk pikuk kota Songkla, menuju rute tikus Padang Besar. Pada awalnya langit masih berkompromi. Dia kibaskan mendung searah dengan jalur perjalanan kita, tapi apa daya, ia pun tak mampu mencegah awan menurunkan hujannya. Berhenti. Saat yang tepat untuk  rehat sejenak sambil mengisi perut kosong yang belum terisi selama awal perjalanan.
Tidak banyak waktu yang dihabiskan untuk menikmati santap siang di bawah guyuran hujan. Sekitar 15 menit rehat. Hujan reda. Lanjut. Memasuki rute jalur tikus, kita agak kehilangan jejak ingatan. Dengan keyakinan tidak salah mengambil arah, perjalanan pun terus dilanjutkan. Jalur lurus nan sepi. Kanan kiri dipenuhi pepohonan karet yang sudah memasuki usia senja. Menambah rimbunnya suasana jalan yang sepi. Aman.
Berulang kali bertanya kepada masyarakat yang kita jumpai dengan satu pola kalimat yang sangat sederhana, “Pai Padang Besar, Tinai?”.. dan jawaban panjang yang kita dengarkan, kita akhirnya terus melanjutkan perjalanan. Hingga setelah tiga kali proses yang sama, terbukalah jalur yang sebenArnya. Pikiran pun menjadi cerah kembali. “15Km Padang Besar”, tertulis di papan samping jalan, kita semakin semangat memacu kembali roda dua yang kita tunggangi. Sampai.
Proses keluar masuk Thailand-Malyasia-Thailand, lagi tidak terlalu memakan waktu lama. Kurang lebih 15 menit saja, hal ini sudah kita ketahui trik jitu untuk memudahkannya. Selesai. Berlanjut memutari kota Padang Besar. Tidak banyak bangunan penting yang bisa kita kunjungi. Namun satu papan bertuliskan “Padang ….” Dikuti dengan bahasa thai, sudah cukup kita jadikan background untuk mengabadikan momen kita sampai di kota ini dengan kendaraan roda dua.
Akhirnya, kita kembali. Dalam waktu yang lebih singkat, karena kita sudah hafal dengan jalan yang sebenernya untuk dilewati.
